MIUI 9.2 Is Rolling Out; It Brings New Apps, Features & More

Xiaomi has started rolling out MIUI 9.2 Global ROM to users who already have MIUI 9 Global installed on their devices. Having said that, MIUI 9.2 actually brings quite a few changes along with it, not to the extent of MIUI 9, of course, but the changelog is quite long, and in addition to a ton of optimizations and fixes, Xiaomi also brought a couple of its own applications along with this update, read on.

Now, as far as apps are concerned, MIUI 9.2 will install App Vault, New Gallery editor, and Mi Video app on your device when you get the update, presuming they’re not already installed, of course. MIUI 9.2 Stable update is currently available for the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2, Redmi Note 4, Redmi 4, Redmi Y1, Redmi Y1 Lite and Redmi 5A, though it will be arriving to more devices, of course. Another thing worth noting, before we get into the rest of the details, is that this update brings along a fix for KRACK WPA2 security vulnerability. Having said that, if you’ve been having issues with Dual Notifications for WhatsApp or Telegram, this update is supposed to take care of that as well. In the changelog, Xiaomi also mentions that MIUI 9.2 brings some visual changes to the OS, the company basically says that this update further simplifies the UI, which is always a good thing.

A number of fingerprint scanner-related issues have been fixed with this update, while some compatibility issues for third-party software have also been taken care of here. App lock now supports hiding messages from selected apps, while multiple themes are now supported on the clock widget. Some gallery-related fixes have been introduced with MIUI 9.2 as well, while a number of fixes arrived for Mi Account as well. As already mentioned, this update is already rolling out to the devices that we’ve listed in the second paragraph, but it will hit more units soon. Your device will notify you once the update is available, but you can always manually download it from the source link down below.
