OnePlus 5, 5T Receive New Features Via OxygenOS Beta Updates

The OnePlus 3 and 3T have received Face Unlock via a recent OxygenOS Open Beta update, and the OnePlus 5 and 5T have just received some new features as well. As you probably already know, Face Unlock already arrive to the OnePlus 5 earlier this month via a beta update, while the OnePlus 5T launched with that feature. In any case, the OnePlus 5 and 5T have just received Open Beta 4 and 2 updates, and if you’re interested in knowing more, read on.

Changelogs for both devices are the same, so both have received the very same features / improvements with the aforementioned updates. This update brings the OnePlus Switch application to both devices, which should make backing up and restoring data a lot easier. A new clipboard feature has been added, while the company patched up some issues with the File Manager, and also added a ‘large file management function’. You will not be able to see more information regarding your caller during an incoming call notification, and OnePlus did mention that some third party camera apps may have issues with this new update. The company has also updated its launcher by releasing this update, new drawer categories are now here, and so is ‘Auto folder tagging’. Dynamic Icon for the Clock app has been added via this update as well, while the ‘Notification Dot’ optimization has been released here too. Both devices should be able to manage high power consumption apps better thanks to this update, while the company also squashed some bugs with this update, and also optimized the whole UI.

This beta update is rather rich with new features and changes, and if you’d like to get more info regarding all that, follow the source link down below, where you’ll find explanations for everything we’ve mentioned here. The OnePlus 5 and 5T were both announced last year, and the OnePlus 5 is actually already running Android 8.0 Oreo (stable build), while the OnePlus 5T did not receive it still in a stable form, at the very least, but the update is expected to land on the phone in the near future, so stay tuned for that.
