Redmi Note 5 Leaks With Thin Bezels, Too Good To Be True?

The alleged Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 has just surfaced online in a new, rather sketchy render. Having said that, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 has managed to become a real mystery, one of the moderators over at MIUI Forums basically suggested that the Redmi Note 5 will not even arrive as the Redmi 5 Plus took its place, while a new rumor surfaced a couple of days ago suggesting that the device will launch in the second quarter of this year with the Snapdragon 632 64-bit octa-core processor.

Having that in mind, this new render that surfaced actually looks great, probably even too good to be true. Bezels on this handset are extremely thin all around, and its display is rounded. All the necessary sensors and an earpiece are placed above the display, while the power / lock, volume up and volume down keys can be found on the right-hand side of this phone. The back side of the phone is made out of metal, while there are two cameras included back there, and also a fingerprint scanner. Those camera units seem to be huge, compared to the rest of the device, actually, which is yet another indication that this leak may be fake. On the other hand, it is possible that the render is not fake, but that it’s not showing off the Redmi Note 5, but the Xiaomi Mi 7 instead, who knows. In any case, we will have to wait until Xiaomi announces the Redmi Note 5 and the Xiaomi Mi 7 in order to be sure.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, if it ever becomes a reality, will be a mid-range smartphone, just like its predecessors. The device was actually tipped to resemble the Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus, both of which sport really thin bezels, but not to the extent of a phone shown off in the render above. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is rumored to sport a 5.99-inch fullHD+ display, along with 4GB of RAM and 32GB / 64GB of native storage. Android Nougat will probably come pre-installed on the device with MIUI 9, though it all depends on when will the device get announced, it is even possible that Xiaomi may include Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box.
