Sony Events App Is Here With The Latest Sony-Related News

Sony has announced a new app that will give Android users access to its latest announcements. Sony has made a number of announcements at CES 2018 and it appears the company is hoping to capitalize on this by introducing a brand new app which will showcase any news from the company to its users, with the main focus being mobile events.

The app will provide exclusive behind the scenes 360-degree footage to those who download it, with virtual tours of the company’s booth and other content being featured. Any new product announcement or information will also be available in the app for potential customers to see. Sony traditionally has a pretty big presence at annual tech events, with CES 2018 being just one example. After all, the company typically showcases a number of smartphones at MWC in February, with this year expected to be no different. In fact, Sony is expected to showcase up to three new devices, all of which will compete in different price ranges of the flagship spectrum. These devices are rumored to be the Xperia XZ1S, Xperia XZ1 Plus, and the Xperia XZ1 Premium, with the latter being the most expensive model and successor to last year’s Xperia XZ Premium, and the first expected to compete in the lower end of the flagship spectrum. Aside from MWC, the company typically has a presence at SXSW, which tends to take place in March. Last year the company introduced a variety of concepts, among which was the Motion Sonic Project. The concept used a combination of microphones and gyro sensors in order to track motion in order to transform any movement into sound, while also allowing users to control music through this movement. Rounding off the year is typically IFA, where the Japanese company has a history of showcasing its second flagship device of the year and its annual Compact variant.

For those who download the app now, though, will have access to everything CES-related, with information surrounding the company’s latest Xperia XA2 lineup and Xperia L2, as well as the company’s new audio products and Blu-ray players. Also included will be news relating to the company’s older wireless earbuds, which are set to receive Google Assistant support. For those interested, the Sony Events app is available through the Google Play Store for Android users worldwide.
