Samsung has just released two new promo videos for its Galaxy Note 8 flagship, and in these two videos, which were released on YouTube, the company shows you how to maximize battery life on the device, and also, how to set up a mobile hotspot. The Galaxy Note 8 had been announced back in August last year, and it’s still the company’s flagship offering, at least until the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus arrive, which is bound to happen at this year’s Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, which kicks off next month. In any case, if you’re interested in checking out some Galaxy Note 8 battery life tips, or perhaps you need some info regarding how to setup a mobile hotspot on the phone, read on.
Let’s talk about Samsung’s battery life tips first, shall we. As most of you already know, the Galaxy Note 8 sports a Super AMOLED display, and setting up a black wallpaper for your background, can help you maximize your battery life, as it’s the case with any other OLED panel. In this video, Samsung actually shows you how to do that in detail, so check out the video if you’re interested. In addition to setting up a black wallpaper, you can also disable ‘Infinity Effects’, which will basically make sure that you don’t have any wallpaper animations taking away your precious battery life. Samsung also notes that disabling location, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi can also help Galaxy Note 8’s battery life, and the last tip that the company mentions, is enabling a power save mode, of course, though you can customize this option quite a bit, so you can tune it to your preference.
Setting up a mobile hotspot is fairly simple for the vast majority of you, but some people don’t really use it that often, or perhaps ever, so the second video that is embedded down below will help you do that on your Galaxy Note 8. By setting up a mobile hotspot, you can basically turn your Galaxy Note 8 in a Wi-Fi router, and let other devices connect to it, though do keep in mind that this will eat away your mobile data, of course. In order to set up a mobile hotspot, head to the ‘Settings’ app, hit ‘Mobile Hotspot and Tethering’ option, and enable ‘Mobile Hotspot’. There you can also hit the ‘Mobile Hotspot’ option, and set up your preferred password, so that other devices can connect, while you also have some additional details to choose from here, like changing the name of your mobile hotspot, for example.
