CES 2018 has come and gone and just like every year there were exciting things to be seen. This year, the standout announcements came from companies like HTC, Razer, and of course Samsung, while other companies both big and small, both well-known and relatively unheard of, dropped the curtains on what they had to offer consumers for the rest of the year and beyond. When it comes to well-known brands and high-profile tech devices, HTC’s Vive Pro is a perfect example of what would be an exciting and notable product that was shown off at the event. Not only that, but it was also a surprise as HTC gave out no hints that it had something to announce.
Also in the VR camp was Lenovo with its Mirage Solo headset and Mirage Camera, one being the standalone Daydream headset that Google had promised to users last year at Google I/O, the other being a camera designed to take pictures that were meant to be viewed on a Daydream headset. Of course, moving away from VR, Samsung aimed to wow attendees and consumers with its new TV called The Wall, which it boasts is the world’s first modular microLED TV, the main selling point being that it’s modular and could allow consumers to put together the TV that perfectly fits their needs.
Another standout product was Project Linda, Razer’s wild (though not really that wild) new concept laptop which has a slot for you to place your Razer phone that turns it into a touch pad for the laptop. It can also be used as a second screen for what you’re doing on the laptop’s main screen, such as playing a game. Though this is just a concept and Razer hasn’t confirmed when or if it will be released at some point in the future, it did seem to work pretty well at the conference so there seems to be a good chance that it will launch at some point, with rumors already speculating it will release this Fall. Lots of other interesting tech was unveiled too, like the legions of new pairs of headphone, both wired and wireless, as well as Lenovo and JBL’s touch displays. What was the most exciting thing you saw at CES?
