Essential has just announced three new color variants of the Essential PH-1, Ocean Depths, Stellar Gray and Copper Black. The company more or less confirmed that the Ocean Depths color variant is coming, when the company released a teaser on its social media channels the other day, however, the other two color variants are a total surprise. Essential’s newly-announced color options come with different price points than the company’s regular color variants, though, as they are $100 more expensive than Black Moon and Pure White variants of the Essential PH-1. Essential also mentioned that these color options are ‘limited’, and that they will release on various dates. If you’re planning to get one of the newly-announced Essential PH-1 options, you will have to splash out $599, while the regular models are priced at $499 at the moment. Build materials remain the same on these new variants, in case you were wondering, which means that they are still made out of ceramic and titanium. Essential actually said that it spent months developing custom ceramic colors, as the process seems to be considerably more complex than on standard materials. The Ocean Depths color variant is already available on the company’s official website, the Stellar Gray model will become available on February 20 at 12PM PST, while the Copper Black color variant will launch on February 22 at 12PM PST, just in case you’re interested in one of those phones.
As far as specs are concerned, nothing has changed, all of these newly-announced color variants are completely identical to regular Essential PH-1 units. That means that you’ll be getting a 5.71-inch 2560 x 1312 display, 4GB of RAM and 128GB of non-expandable storage. The Essential PH-1 is fueled by the Snapdragon 835 64-bit octa-core SoC, while a 3,040mAh non-removable battery is also a part of the package. Two 13-megapixel snappers are included on the back of the phone, while a single 8-megapixel snapper can be found on the phone’s front side.
