All of those variants are shown from various angles in the aforementioned renders, so there’s nothing to hide at this point, basically, as these do seem to be official renders.
These renders more or less confirms a number of rumors and leaks we’ve seen in the last couple of weeks, as the Galaxy S9 sports a single camera on the back, while the Galaxy S9 Plus comes with a dual camera setup on its back side. Other than that, the two phones look basically identical, they’re both made out of metal and glass, while they both ship with a rear-facing fingerprint scanner, which is positioned far better than it was on the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus. The phone’s power / lock key sits on the right, while you will find its volume up, volume down and Bixby buttons on the left. Both phones sport a curved, Infinity display, as expected, and their bezels are quite thin, while their displays sport rounded corners. It seems like the top bezel is slightly thicker than the bottom bezel, but the difference doesn’t seem to be especially noticeable. Both smartphones will be fueled by the Snapdragon 845 64-bit octa-core processor in the US, while the Exynos 9810 will fuel the two phones in Europe and some other regions. Android 8.0 Oreo will come pre-installed on both phones, with Samsung’s Experience 9.0 UI. The Galaxy S9 will sport a 12-megapixel shooter (f/1.5 / f/2.4 dynamic aperture) on its back, while the Galaxy S9 Plus will include two 12-megapixel snappers on its back side. An 8-megapixel camera (f/1.7 aperture) will sit on the front side of both smartphones, while both devices will ship with IP68 certification for water and dust resistance as well. The Galaxy S9 will sport a 5.8-inch QHD+ (2960 x 1440) display, while the Galaxy S9 Plus will ship with a 6.2-inch QHD+ (2960 x 1440) panel. The Galaxy S9 will include 4GB of RAM and 64GB of native storage, while the Galaxy S9 Plus will come with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.
Both devices will sport Iris scanner, facial recognition, and stereo speakers. Bluetooth 5.0 is also included here, and it seems like Dual SIM variants of the two phones will be available as well. The Galaxy S9 will include a 3,000mAh non-removable battery, while its ‘Plus’ counterpart will come with a 3,500mAh non-removable battery pack. Samsung is expected to offer both phones up for pre-order on February 25, while it will start shipping pre-ordered units on March 8.
