Google Search now has better price filtering for hotels as part of the company’s changes to make finding a place to stay during travel a simpler process when on the go. While search has always been a great place for users to find lodging, now that people are becoming more mobile and using their smartphones more and more for everything from social media browsing to looking up prices on trip fare and stay costs, Google is dedicated to making things more convenient so that users are more keen on finding the places they want to stay at the prices they’re looking for from their mobile devices.
The biggest change isn’t the price filtering which admittedly is going to be a big improvement in and of itself for anyone who uses Google Search to find hotel rooms, but rather it’ll be the capability to book the room they want all from Google Search so they don’t have to be transported to another website to complete the process. This not only makes things easier on users as they have to jump through less hoops, but it also makes things faster so the entire thing takes up less time allowing users to get on with their day, as most people who will be using this feature on mobile will probably be doing so in the middle of other things that are going on when they have a few free minutes.
Google is making the process of searching for hotels seamless in more ways than one, too. It’s also incorporating a way for users to jump to hotel listings for a designated location that they’ve already searched for with Google Flights. For example, if you’ve searched for airfare on Google Flights for a specific set of dates, there will be a new button for you to jump right from flights to a set of hotel listings and the listings will already be set in place for the same times you’ve input for your flight searches, which will save you an extra step. What’s more is that Google says this is backwards compatible with flights, meaning if you search for hotels with a specific set of dates first, then you can jump over to the flights tab and the dates for the flights will be the same as the dates for the hotel listings you’ve already searched for. Additionally, there will be a new “More Destinations” tab that you can tap on to see possible locations you may be interested in visiting. Google says these changes should be rolling out to all users over the course of the next few days, though some users may already see them in Search when looking for either hotels or flights.
