An HTC Desire 12 leak suggests that the phone will come with 3GB of RAM and a 5.5-inch screen. This is according to an image that is said to be of the retail packaging for the phone. Judging by the way the image looks it appears similar to the way the specs are listed on the packaging for phones, where the manufacturer usually lists off the most notable specs for a device. In the case of the HTC Desire 12 and in addition to the RAM and screen size, the device is said to have a screen resolution of 720 x 1,440 which HTC is calling HD+, and will be coming with an 18:9 aspect ratio.
Other specs listed include a 64-bit quad-core processor from MediaTek though it isn’t mentioned which processor this is exactly. The phone should have 32GB of internal storage, with support for expandable storage via microSD card up to 2TB in space, though no 2TB microSD cards currently exist so you wouldn’t actually be able to expand the phone up to that amount. The Desire 12 will reportedly support Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n and come with dual nano SIM support, as well as a 2,730mAh battery for keeping the device powered on. In the camera department the phone is listed as having 12-megapixel rear-facing camera for main images, capable of 1080p video recording, and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video chat.
Though there is yet to be any sort of confirmed or rumored date for the launch of the HTC Desire 12, it was already rumored to launch this year in a report from February 14. The Desire line for HTC tends to be more of a mid-range or entry-level device category for HTC, and they don’t always launch in the U.S., or they launch in the U.S. but under a different name. That said there is a possibility that the Desire 12 won’t be coming to the U.S. market. Though these specs may end up being correct for the moment they’re still just a rumor, and there is yet to be any information regarding an exact release date, or region availability for that matter, and it’s still unclear what the phone will cost when HTC launches it.
