Huawei’s latest flagship smartphone, the Mate 10 Pro, is now officially available for pre-order in the US at Amazon, B&H Photo and Newegg. The Mate 10 Pro is going to set you back about $799, but it is unlocked so it can be taken to any GSM carrier and used. That means that in the US, it’ll work on AT&T and T-Mobile, and it will not work on Verizon and Sprint. While pre-orders opened today, don’t expect the Mate 10 Pro to start shipping until February 18th, which is its official launch date.
The Huawei Mate 10 Pro is a stunning looking smartphone, from the world’s third largest smartphone maker. It sports all of the usual specs, including a 6-inch 18:9 aspect ratio Quad HD OLED display, along with the Kirin 970 processor, with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. It also has a dual-camera setup on the backside, which is Leica-branded once again. Continuing Huawei’s partnership with Leica, the Mate 10 Pro sports a 12-megapixel RGB sensor and then a 20-megapixel monochrome sensor, similar to its predecessor. However, with the Kirin 970 processor inside, the camera on the Mate 10 Pro is able to do some neat tricks with artificial intelligence. It is able to recognize the scene and adjust the settings of the camera appropriately in real-time, thanks to artificial intelligence.
Huawei has garnered a lot of attention on its Mate series of smartphones for the large, long lasting batteries that are inside. And that is the case with the Mate 10 Pro once again. It sports a 4000mAh battery, which lasts all day and then some. It is a non-removable battery, but it does have fast charging. Unfortunately, it does not support Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 (and that’s because it does not use a Qualcomm chipset), but does have Huawei’s own fast charging, which can fully charge the Mate 10 Pro’s 4000mAh battery in around 80 minutes. Which is arguably faster than Quick Charge 3.0, but you do need to use the included charger to get that kind of speed.
Currently, it appears that Huawei is only offering up the Mate 10 Pro in blue in the US, but that might change when it becomes available for purchase on February 18th. You can pick up the Huawei Mate 10 Pro from Amazon, B&H Photo or Newegg using the links below. As far as shipping goes, Amazon would likely be the fastest, and may even arrive before the official launch date of February 18th.
