The OUKITEL U18 is now available to pre-order for $159.99. This is a limited-time price to coincide with the smartphone’s release as once the pre-order period ends it is expected the OUKITEL U18 will be available to buy priced at $179.99. In addition to being a limited-time deal this is also a limited-quantity deal as only a select number of handsets have been allocated to the lower price. The pre-order period started today (Feb. 1) and will remain in effect until February 7, with shipping expected to commence from mid-February.
As for the phone, the OUKITEL U18 is a device that clearly takes some of its design inspiration from Apple’s iPhone X. As not only does the OUKITEL U18 sport a full-screen display, but it also features a ‘notch’ on the front panel positioned in a similar way to that found on the iPhone X. The display itself measures in at 5.85-inches and makes use of a 21:9 aspect ratio resulting in a 1512 x 720 resolution. While the OUKITEL U18 looks like the iPhone X, it is a little slimmer due to the use of a different aspect ratio
Inside, and in spite of the low price, the OUKITEL U18 comes loaded with 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, and powered by a MediaTek MT6750T octa-core processor. A combination which should be more than sufficient for multitasking and gaming. In terms of the cameras, the OUKITEL U18 features a dual rear camera setup comprised of a 16-megapixel primary camera along with a 5-megapixel secondary camera, while a 13-megapixel camera can be found on the front. Other features worth noting include a 4,000 mAh battery, expandable storage support (up to 128GB), USB Type-C connectivity, and Android 7.0 (Nougat). It is also worth being aware this is a phone that places an added degree of focus on security, as not only does the OUKITEL U18 feature a fingerprint sensor but also facial recognition thanks to the employment of OUKITEL’s version of Face ID. In addition to confirming the start of the pre-order status, OUKITEL has also now announced a contest where an OUKITEL U18 smartphone will be given away for free.
