The LG ‘Judy’ is a codename for LG’s upcoming flagship, and Evan Blass has just revealed its model number, it’s the LG G710. The LG G710 is expected to become the LG G7 later this year, and if the leaked info, which surfaced earlier this month, is to be believed, the device will become official in June. Earlier this year, rumors said that the LG G7 may launch in April, but some comments from the company suggested it may happen a bit later than expected, so it is quite possible that we’ll see it released in June.
LG had introduced the LG V30 ThinQ during this year’s Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, and that handset is quite similar to the LG V30 which was announced last year. The device looks more or less identical, while its internals are almost the same as well, though the LG V30 ThinQ comes with some AI features that the LG V30 does not have. Having said that, the LG ThinQ is fueled by the Snapdragon 835 64-bit octa-core SoC, which is Qualcomm flagship for last year, while the LG G7 aka LG Judy is expected to ship with the Snapdragon 845 SoC once it becomes official. As far as the phone’s design is concerned, we really do not have much info at the moment, as quite a few images leaked in the last couple of months, but they differ one from the other so much, that it’s hard to know what to believe at this point. Chances are, however, that the LG G7 will be made out of metal and glass, just like the LG G6 and LG V30 (ThinQ). It seems like LG did change some things around when it comes to the design of the LG G7, as the company is trying to differentiate, so we’ll see what we’ll get in the end, but you can expect to see thin bezels, that’s for sure.
The LG G7, aside from the Snapdragon 845, is expected to sport 4GB or 6GB of RAM on the inside, while you can expect to see a 5.7-inch display (or perhaps a larger panel) included in the package. Chances are that LG will use a QHD+ P-OLED panel in the LG G7, and a dual camera setup will almost certainly be included on the back of the phone. Android Oreo is expected to come pre-installed on the device, along with LG’s custom UI.
