Meizu Teases March 6 Unveiling Of E3 Smartphone

Meizu is teasing a March 6 unveiling of the E3, one of its new phones that is on course to launch at some point later in the year, and based on the rumored date for the announcement it would likely be launched not too long after and could hit the market for consumers before the Summer time in regions where Meizu plans to release the phone.

The hint that Meizu is going to announce the E3 on March 6 comes from three press invites that it has sent out to members of the press, and in each of the three invites the “E3” label can be seen accompanied by the date of 03.06 somewhere else in the image. It’s also worth pointing out that E3 is listed alongside the letters G and P, which suggests that there will be two different variants of the phone. This isn’t necessarily an exact confirmation, but since it is a press invite this is the most likely thing that Meizu is suggesting will happen on this date. So far this seems to be the first hint that points to a possible unveiling for the upcoming phone, but there have already been a number of leaks for the device showing what the design of it will look like once Meizu actually launches it.

Both the most recent leaks for the E3 have shown up in the past week, with one image having leaked back on February 2 showing part of what looks like a live device in Black, with the “Halo” button just barely in view, while the other was leaked just a couple of days back on February 6, showing the device completely from the front and the back in a Gold color option with a white front. The Meizu E3 will be one of the latest smartphones to hit the market with a dual rear camera setup, and like many of Meizu’s phones it will reportedly come with a metal unibody design, which means it should have a premium look and feel to it, and since it’s a Meizu device it shouldn’t cost nearly as much as flagships from some of the top brands, though it probably won’t be released outside of China and a few other Asian countries.
