Motorola Moto G6, G6 Play & G6 Plus Codenames Leak

Evan Blass has just revealed codenames of Motorola’s upcoming Moto G-branded smartphones. According to the tipster, the Moto G6 carries the ‘Blaine’ codename, while ‘Ashley’ is Moto G6 Play’s codename. The Moto G6 Plus, on the other hand, is called ‘Teller’ internally, says Mr. Blass. That is more or less all the info that the source shared, but chances are that we’ll get some more info in the near future.

That being said, the Moto G6 handsets have been leaking for a while now, the Moto G6 Play actually surfaced on Geekbench yesterday, and that listing confirmed that the phone will ship with Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. In addition to that, the listing also confirmed that the phone will sport 3GB of RAM, and be fueled by the Snapdragon 430, Qualcomm’s entry-level processor. Now, earlier this month, the Moto G6 render appeared, and the same can be said for some spec info when it comes to all three Moto G6 smartphones. If the leaked render is to be believed, the Moto G6 will sport a front-facing fingerprint scanner, above which Motorola’s logo will be placed. The phone’s bezels will not exactly be extremely thin, while all of its physical keys will be placed on the right. A dual camera setup will be included on the back of the Moto G6, and the design is easily recognizable, as it seems like the phone will sport Motorola’s ‘camera oreo’ on the back, which includes not only its camera, but an LED flash as well. The device will be made out of metal and glass, quite probably, while the ‘camera oreo’ will protrude on the back.

According to the rumored spec info, all three Moto G6 smartphones will ship with an 18:9 displays. The regular Moto G6 smartphone will be fueled by the Snapdragon 450 SoC, while the ‘Plus’ model will come with the Snapdragon 630 processor. The Moto G6 Play will, allegedly, sport a 4,000mAh non-removable battery, while the Moto G6 and Moto G6 Plus will include 3,000mAh and 3,250mAh batteries, respectively. Android 8.0 Oreo will come pre-installed on all three models of the Moto G6, if the rumored info is to be believed. All three Moto G6 smartphones are expected to launch in the near future, so stay tuned.
