Nokia 9's Display May Be Curved, Leaked Cases Suggest

The Nokia 9 is expected to arrive in the near future, as HMD Global’s new flagship, and two new cases for the device have just surfaced online. The first case that appeared comes from Tudia, a well-known company which manufactures cases for mobile devices, while the second case appeared on GearBest, and it seems to be unbranded. Having said that, both of these cases hint at the same design of the device, and both of them come with Nokia 9 renders, which, if legit, reveal quite a few details regarding the phone’s design, read on.

Let’s take a look at the Tudia case first, shall we. The first ten images in the gallery down below will show you Tudia’s offering, a case called ‘MERGE’. Now, it’s worth noting that this case is listed on the company’s website, but its Indian website, not the global one. This case is currently priced at Rs. 999 ($15), and it’s listed as ‘Coming Soon’. If you take a look at the case itself, you will notice that it is not especially thin, it is made out of polycarbonate on the outside, and enhanced thermoplastic polyurethane (GPU) rubberized gel skin. This case clearly shows that a fingerprint scanner will be included on the back of the Nokia 9, while a dual camera setup will be included above it. An LED flash will sit next to the phone’s cameras, and Tudia’s logo is included on the back of this case. Now, the alleged Nokia 9 render which is included in the provided images clearly sports a curved display, and this case is adapted for a smartphone with a curved display. So, will the Nokia 9 sport such a panel? Well, if Tudia’s renders are to be believed, yes.

The second case that you can check out in the gallery comes without branding, and it is already available for purchase from GearBest. This is also a TPU case, soft plastic it seems, while it comes with some sort of a pattern on the back which should make it grippier than a regular plastic case. That case is currently priced at $4.79, and it can be purchased on GearBest. Now, these two cases also indicate that all the physical keys will be included on the right-hand side of the Nokia 9. The Nokia 9 may launch at this year’s Mobile World Congress (MWC) which kicks off soon, but nothing has been confirmed just yet.
