Rumor: LG Showcased Q7, V35 & New Smartwatch At MWC 2018

While MWC 2018 has for the most part come to an end, reports are now starting to come through suggesting more devices were on show than had initially been expected, or for that matter, noted by most of those in attendance at the event. For example, a short time ago details came through that LG was reportedly showing off the LG G7 Neo at MWC. This seemed to largely go unnoticed until it was reported today. As a direct follow up to that previous information, Evan Blass (aka @evleaks) is now suggesting LG was also demoing the LG Q7 smartphone, the LG V35 smartphone, and even a new smartwatch at the event.

Besides the suggestion of their appearance, there is no further information provided on any of these with Blass simply stating a “little bird” provided the information. Likewise, unlike the previous G7 Neo report which came with a video (highlight the inclusion of a notch among other things) there are no images to speak of. So the option of verifying whether or not these devices were on show is largely nonexistent. Of the three devices, however, the new smartwatch is likely to be the one that is of most interest as up until now there has been pretty much no news on a new smartwatch from the company. Unlike the LG V35 which had already been reported on, and the Q7 which has also hit the headlines before. While it could be assumed that if a smartwatch is being demoed now, it might not be too far away from an official launch – whether or not that is the case, remains to be seen.

As for what LG did officially announce at the event, that was a new version of the LG V30, the V30S ThinQ. This one is different to the other new LG V30 variant (the V30 Plus) as the V30S ThinQ comes with a specific focus on artificial intelligence (AI) as well as greater compatibility with the company’s ThinQ platform in general. Other information which came through officially from LG at the event included reassurance the company has not abandoned the G-series of smartphones.
