There’s a new app in the Google Play Store intended to make watermarking photos shot with an Android handset easier than ever. The app is called Shot on Watermark on Photo – Like Shot On one plus, and was developed by long-time platform developer Yogesh Dama. Shot on has some obvious uses for those who take images on a professional level. That’s especially true since users can not only watermark an image with the device and model it was taken with but can also include custom watermarks. However, even amateur photographers will almost certainly find it useful since that could feasibly be used to protect against misuse or misappropriation of the images they’ve taken.
To that end, there are several key features that this application brings with it for a relatively small cost of $0.99. For starters, users can easily toggle the application to automatically add the ShotOn watermark to all photos taken from their smartphone camera. As mentioned above, that functionality isn’t limited to information about the camera or smartphone itself, either. However, for those that just want to show off what any given device is capable of, there are a wealth of brand logos and fonts available to create a custom Shot on logo and each watermark can be custom-sized to match the resolution of the original image or downscaled to make it easier to share photos and save space. Unlike many other applications, the cost of Shot on is a one-time fee since the application itself has no in-app purchase or subscription costs associated with it. Best of all, there also aren’t any advertisements from the application and no internet connection is required since all of the watermark edits and processing take place on-device.
These services are not only exceptionally useful in maintaining ownership of the work of professional photographers. A watermark can also protect the work of amateur photographers and hobbyists from having their work used without attribution or payment. However, watermarking services can often be a hassle or require a time-based subscription in order to access. Given that this isn’t the case here, this is one application that is almost guaranteed to gain at least a respectable degree of popularity in short order.
