Sling TV subscribers will get NBA League Pass at $29 Per Month, Sling announced today in an official blog post. For NBA fans $29 a month seems like a pretty good deal, though it does require that users have a subscription package to Sling Orange, Sling Blue, or the Spanish-language or international options that are available, as the League Pass offering will be an add-on to that package and not an a la carte option.
In addition to the NBA League Pass $29 selection, there will be an $18 option available now too, which will be for NBA Team Pass. The obvious difference with League Pass and Team Pass is that Team Pass will only allow access to the regular season games for one single team, though it is possible to choose from any of the teams in the league. If you only care about following the live regular season games for a single team only, this will be the best and cheapest option to go for, and even though you only save $11 per month a savings is still a savings. Also worth mentioning is that the Team Pass will require the same subscription to any of the above-mentioned Sling TV packages.
According to Sling the League Pass option is already available while the Team Pass option is not going live for at least another few weeks, so those wanting the single-team pass add-on will need to wait a little bit longer. For League Pass subscribers, over 1,000 live games are available from out-of-market as long as they’re regular season games, and Sling says this is on top of the games you’ll be able to watch through other networks like TNT, ABC, ESPN, and NBA TV. In addition to the League Pass live games, Sling also aims to add on-demand games to the League Pass add-on option, though it won’t be adding those right away, only mentioning that it plans to add them in the future at some point. That said, there is no current time frame for the on-demand content, so there could be a substantial waiting period to get access to those too for consumers that are interested.
