Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 670 SoC leaked a couple of times now, and its specifications have just surfaced as well. The Snapdragon 845 is the company’s most powerful SoC thus far, it was announced back in December, and we’re waiting for the first smartphones powered by this SoC to hit the market. That being said, the Snapdragon 670, as its name suggests, will be Qualcomm’s new mid-range offering, and a direct successor to the rather popular Snapdragon 660 CPU, read on.
Now, according to the info shared by WinFuture.de, the Snapdragon 670 will be a 10nm processor, as expected. It seems like we will not be getting a regular big.LITTLE architecture here, with four high-performance and four low-performance cores, instead, the Snapdragon 670 will consist out of six low-performance cores, and two high-performance cores. Those six cores will be called ‘Kryo 300’, and will be clocked at 2.6GHz max, while they are essentially an adaptation of ARM Cortex-A55, if the provided info is to be believed. The Kryo 300 Gold refers to the remaining two cores, which will essentially be adapted Cortex-A55 cores. These two cores will run at max 1.7GHz, in case you were wondering. Now, as far as cache is concerned, each of the aforementioned cores has 32KB L1 cache, and each cluster 128KB L2 cache.
The Snapdragon 670 will also include the Adreno 615 GPU for graphics processing, and this GPU will run at 430 or 650MHz, while it can reach 700MHz dynamically. The Snapdragon 670 will support UFS 2.1 and eMMC 5.1 flash storage, while the Snapdragon X2X model which will be included on this chip, will be able to offer you download speeds of 1Gbps max. That is pretty much all the info that is available at the moment, though we still do not know when will this processor become a reality. The Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona is right around the corner, and it is possible that Qualcomm plans to introduce this SoC during that tradeshow, but it remains to be seen if that will happen or not. In any case, stay tuned for further info, as the Snapdragon 670 will quite probably be one of the most used Snapdragon-branded mobile SoCs in 2018, if not the most used one, at least based on the popularity of its predecessor.
