Weekly Poll: Which Smart Speaker Do You Use?

Smart speakers continue to edge their way into the lives of consumers and as more and more options make their way to market the consumer will have more choice and be able to purchase something that is likely the best fit for their own personal needs and wants. While Amazon’s Alexa and Google Assistant dominate the space when it comes to smart smart speakers that run on those platforms, Apple’s Home Pod is another viable option it would seem now that it has actually released and is right up there with the other possible speaker choices. That said, if you’re not an iOS user or you’re just not a fan of Siri, then you may opt for something other than the Home Pod. Nevertheless with more options out there now it begs the question of which speaker people are using.

For options, there are products like the Amazon Echo, Echo Dot, Echo Plus, and Echo Show, or Google’s Home, Home Mini, or Home Max. You’ll also find other options from different brands which support one or both platforms, such as the Sonos One, a speaker which we recently reviewed and which supports Alexa but will also support Google Assistant, or the JBL Link View, which supports Google Assistant and is akin to the Echo Show.

There’s also an option from Sony which is powered by Google’s platform, as well as the Lenovo smart speaker that was just announced at CES. Keeping these options in mind, some of them aren’t actually available yet, but the main options from Google and Amazon are, as well as the Sonos One and the Apple Home Pod. While all will have their own respective strengths and features, for the most part they’ll do the same thing – answer questions, complete actions or tasks like turning off the lights or adjusting the thermostat, and placing orders for things you might want to shop for online. All also have the capability to play streaming music, though some might be better suited for it than others thanks to their roots in a high-quality speaker market when it comes to audio performance. So, which smart speaker do you use?
