The Deezer streaming service has launched on Alexa devices making it simple and quick to play music from your favorite stations, bands, solo artists, and genres all without having to lift a finger as you can simply ask Alexa to play some music on Deezer, and Alexa will oblige by finding what you want and start streaming it right then and there. This will work for the Echo, Echo Dot, Echo Show, and Echo Plus, and any other device which has Alexa and a speaker built into it, which leaves little limitation, a good thing for the consumers who use Alexa products that happen to be Deezer users as well.
Streaming music through Deezer on Alexa devices is starting to roll out to users from today, though this will be a gradual rollout so it’s possible not all users will see the availability immediately. It will however be available in all regions where Deezer and Alexa are supported separately, which includes the U.S., UK, Germany, and other countries so if users in those countries aren’t able to stream music from Deezer on their Alexa devices right away it should go live soon enough, though Deezer doesn’t mention any exact time frames so it could be anywhere from a few days to a few weeks.
Streaming Deezer on Alexa will come with a handful of features beyond simply asking Alexa to “play music on Deezer.” Users will be able to ask Alexa to play music for different moods based on genres. You can ask Alexa to play rock music, hip hop, alternative and more thanks to Alexa’s ability to recognize 18 different moods and 74 different genres. On demand music playback is supported to so if you know exactly what you want to listen to down to the specific artist and song that option will be available. You can even access Deezer’s Flow feature through Alexa which will play music continuously until you ask Alexa to stop, which is perfect if you’re in the mood for music all day and night. To get access to these features, you naturally need to connect Alexa to your Deezer account once the support goes live.
