Focal on Wednesday announced its latest audio offering in the form of the Listen Wireless Chic, a pair of premium Bluetooth headphones planned to be made available in a range of color variants catering to a wide variety of consumers later this spring. The products are effectively redesigned versions of the French company‘s Listen Wireless over-the-ear headphones, being offered in three additional finishes – Olive, Blue, and Purple. From a performance perspective, the new Listen Wireless Chic products offer the same high-resolution audio and features Focal already commercialized last year, the firm said. The headphones are scheduled to be released in May, priced at $299.
As was the case with the 2017 devices, the Listen Wireless Chic series comes with 22mm thick memory foam ear cushions meant to “remember” the shape of your earlobes in a short timeframe due to their heat sensitivity. Physical controls for music playback and calls are also part of the package, as is a headband with a non-conductive metal finish. Focal claims the Listen Wireless Chic offer high-end noise isolation capabilities and can operate for up to 20 hours on a single charge, whereas their dual-microphone system should allow for clear voice capture during calls. The headphones are compatible with virtually every contemporary smartphone on the market, being designed to communicate with handsets via a Bluetooth 4.1 connection from a distance of up to 15 meters.
The Listen Wireless Chic headphones come bundled with a carrying case, USB cable, and another detachable cable equipped with a miniature audio jack input. With a weight of approximately 300 grams, Focal claims its new devices are extremely compact and suitable for traveling while still not making any compromises on sound quality. No firm release date has yet been attached to the Listen Wireless Chic lineup but one is likely to be disclosed come next month. Focal is expected to retail the new headphones on a global level, as indicated by its previously employed product practices.
