HMD Global has started sending out invites for its April 4 event in India. In the invite, HMD Global mentions the ‘N-powered city of tomorrow’, hinting that new phones are coming. Having said that, the company had already launched the Nokia 1 Android Go handset in the country earlier this week, so we’re guessing that the Nokia 6 (2018), Nokia 7 Plus and the Nokia 8 Sirocco may follow, as those are the three Android One handsets that HMD introduced during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) last month, while the Nokia 1 landed alongside those three devices, and the Nokia 8110 4G, which is a feature phone, and it remains to be seen if it will arrive to India at all.
Having said that, HMD Global did not specifically mention that the devices are coming during this event, but that’s the only obvious outcome, as the company is focusing on smartphones, and they have plenty of new ones to launch in India. Having said that, the Nokia 6 and Nokia 7 Plus are the company’s mid-range offerings, while the Nokia 8 Sirocco is the company’s new flagship, it’s fueled by the same SoC as the Nokia 8. Price points for the devices are still unknown, at least as far as India is concerned, as HMD Global did share price points for Europe. The Nokia 6, Nokia 7 Plus and Nokia 8 Sirocco are priced at €249, €399, and €749 in Europe, so you can expect their price points in India to be quite similar to those. The Nokia 6 (2018) is inferior to both the Nokia 7 Plus and Nokia 8 Sirocco, the device is fueled by the Snapdragon 630 64-bit octa-core SoC, and it sports a rear-facing fingerprint scanner. A 16-megapixel snapper is placed on the back of this phone, and the device features a 5.5-inch fullHD display.
The Nokia 7 Plus sports a 6-inch fullHD+ display, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of native storage. The device is fueled by the Snapdragon 660 64-bit octa-core SoC, and it comes with a 3,800mAh non-removable battery. 12 and 13-megapixel snappers are included on the back of this handset, and we’re looking at ZEISS’ optics here. The Nokia 8 Sirocco is fueled by the Snapdragon 835 processor, while the device packs in 6GB of RAM and 128GB of expandable storage. The Nokia 8 Sirocco also features a 5.5-inch QHD P-OLED display, which is curved, and Android 8.0 Oreo comes pre-installed on the device.
