HTC’s next flagship smartphone is the U12 Plus according to a new report, stating that insiders familiar with HTC‘s plans for its next phone have outed the detail. In addition to the information about the official name of the new device, the image which you can see above has just recently leaked and will be what the device is going to look like when it launches. Though the image is not of sharp clarity, a few key details can be made out to give a better idea of what consumers can look forward to when it’s released.
First, the HTC U12 Plus will come with a dual camera setup on the back, though this wouldn’t be HTC’s first rodeo in the category of smartphones with two rear-facing camera sensors, so this is mostly par for the course with a phone coming from this particular brand. In addition to the two rear cameras which are a 16-megapixel main sensor and a 12-megapixel secondary sensor, the U12 Plus looks to have two 8-megapixel front-facing camera sensors as well as a rear-facing fingerprint sensor, and the body of the phone overall looks to continue with HTC’s trend in design that’s been carried over from the HTC U11 and U11 Plus.
The U12 Plus will come powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 processor to keep it on task and keep it competitive with the other top flagships that have s far been announced this year, and it’ll come with a 6-inch WQHD+ resolution display which uses an LCD panel. It stays powered on with an internal and non-removable 3,420mAh battery which should be plenty for a phone of this size with a top-tier CPU, and it comes with 6GB of RAM, and there is said to be two storage options to choose from – 64GB or 128GB, depending on what you need, with support for expandable storage via micro SD cards. There is no exact launch date that’s been mentioned but it has been rumored to launch sometime near the end of May.
