An image that appears to show an Italian advertisement has now hit the web which seems to confirm the previously leaked pricing for Huawei’s upcoming P20 lineup. The ad image was posted on Twitter today by Evan Blass and shows all three devices in the P20 family. As expected, each device clearly features a camera notch at the top of the screen, thin bezels, and dual cameras for all but the Huawei P20 Pro – which appears to ship with a three-camera array on the back. Earlier information about the pricing had set the prices for Huawei’s P20 Pro, P20, and P20 Lite at €899 ($1,107), €679 ($836), and €369 ($454) respectively. The advertisement actually matches those expectations across the board.
With that said, the differences between these handsets are expected to be minimal. In fact, the separation between these three devices will likely come down to RAM, storage, cameras, and screen size. The ad clearly shows that the mid-range Huawei P20 Lite will ship with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage, as well as a 16-megapixel camera. It also seems to note that the Huawei P20 will arrive with a camera array rated at 24-megapixels, backed by a 3,400mAh battery. Aside from that, each has previously been reported as shipping with Huawei’s own A.I.-centered HiSilicon Kirin 970 chipset. That’s a high-end SoC that, on paper, outperforms the Snapdragon 845 thanks to its intelligent management of resources. That means that all of the Huawei P20 variants will likely be top performers in their respective tiers.
However, the clarity of the image is just not good enough to ascertain all of the details it might contain. It’s also possible that this pricing is only applicable to a select carrier within the region or to a specific region on the continent. While pricing doesn’t generally fluctuate much, it isn’t likely to be the same everywhere regardless. Moreover, the figures could always turn out to be incorrect, despite how official the image appears to be. With that said, the devices are expected to launch on Tuesday, March 27. So it doesn’t seem like anybody is going to have to wait very long at all to find out for sure.
