LG G7 With Notch Display Surfaced In Fresh Concept Renders

A new set of concept renders for the supposed LG G7 smartphone has surfaced online, showing what could be the possible design of the rumored device. One of the most prominent elements in the concept renders include a narrow notch that encompasses the 8-megapixel front camera and the earpiece. The notch display in particular has been a popular design among newly minted mobile devices after it was introduced by the iPhone X. The concept renders for the likely LG G7 were created by Science and Knowledge, which posted the images on its YouTube channel.

Another observation that can be gained from the rendering is the high screen-to-body ratio of the handset and the minimal bezels on the sides as well as on the bottom. The device’s back looks to be made of glass and the entire handset itself has an aluminum frame, according to the renders. On the back of the device sits the 16-megapixel dual camera setup arranged vertically, as well as a laser autofocus, a flash LED and a fingerprint scanner located under the camera. According to the renders, the phone will sport a 6-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1,440 x 3,120 pixels and a 19:9 aspect ratio, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 6. The device is also said to come with Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box with LG UX on top of it. It’s also believed to be powered by the Qualcomm-built Snapdragon 845 system-on-chip, which supports artificial intelligence. The chipset is also supposed to be coupled with 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB or 128GB of internal storage, which is expandable up to 400GB with a microSD card. The phone’s 3,200mAh Li-Po battery also supports Quick Charge 4.0 for fast wireless charging. Science and Knowledge also claims the device will come in four color variants: Black, Gold, Blue, and White.

There’s no word yet from LG on when the device will be finally unveiled and become available to the general public, though the source of the renders claims the LG G7 will launch sometime in May at a price of $545. Of course, these are not official details, so take these pieces of information with a grain of salt. Nonetheless, it’s hard to rule out that the LG G7 won’t arrive at all given LG’s previous statement, saying the G series isn’t dead yet.
