LG Korea Launches LG V30S ThinQ & 256GB V30S Plus ThinQ

LG has just launched the LG V30S ThinQ and 256GB V30S Plus ThinQ in its homeland, South Korea. Now, the LG V30S ThinQ was originally announced during this year’s Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona last month, and South Korea is the first market that handset has landed in. Along with this announcement, LG also confirmed the price point of the device, which is a piece of info we did not have until now. It is worth noting that this particular price point applies only to Korea, of course, and it will be a bit different in other markets.

The LG V30S ThinQ comes in New Moroccan Blue color with a green tint, and New Platinum Gray colors. The LG V30S ThinQ comes with 128GB of native storage, and it is priced at 1048,300 won ($980) in South Korea, while the 256GB V30S Plus ThinQ costs 1097,800 won ($1,025) in LG’s homeland. These two handsets will become available in South Korea tomorrow, March 9, and they will be available through all the major carrier. The company announced earlier that the LG V30S ThinQ will go on sale in Europe and the US soon after its launch in Korea, so chances are that the company will launch it in both of those markets before the end of Q2 2018. Having said that, the LG V30S ThinQ is actually quite similar to its sibling, the LG V30 which was announced last year. As far as the outside is concerned, the LG V30S ThinQ is identical to the LG V30, aside from the fact it comes in different color variants, of course. The two phones have the exact same measurements, and even their weight is the same.

Now, unlike the LG V30, the LG V30S ThinQ comes with 6GB of RAM on the inside, despite the fact it is fueled by the same SoC as the V30, the Snapdragon 835. The LG V30S ThinQ features a 6-inch QHD+ (2880 x 1440) P-OLED display, while it packs in a 3,300mAh non-removable battery. 16 and 13-megapixel shooters are included on the back of this phone, while Android 7.1.2 Nougat comes pre-installed on the device, along with LG UX 6.0+. The LG V30S ThinQ does come with Vision AI, though, that brings AI CAM, QLens and Bright Mode features. AI CAM can analyze subjects in the frame and recommend optimal shooting mode. QLens, on the other hand, can scan QR codes and offer information as to where you can buy particular products, while Bright Mode uses various algorithms to brighten images by a factor of two, which should improve photos that come out of the LG V30S ThinQ.
