Meizu E3 Leaks In Two Colors With 18:9 Screen, Dual Cameras

The Android-powered Meizu E3 leaked yet again on Monday, with four real-life images depicting the device appearing on Chinese microblogging platform Weibo. The photographs that can be seen in the gallery below show two variants of the upcoming Android mid-ranger, with the duo revealing purely white and black matte finishes. A dual-camera setup is also depicted as being part of the package, entailing two vertically arranged sensors positioned in the top left corner of the smartphone’s rear plate, as well as a conventional LED flash. The handset appears to be relatively thick and may end up being bulkier than the 7.5mm Meizu E2 which launched last April. In overall, the newly emerged images are mostly in line with previous Meizu E3 leaks and suggest the Chinese original equipment manufacturer is planning to deliver a relatively conventional-looking device lineup sporting regular-sized bezels, with the only exception being its more contemporary 18:9 display panel.

The Meizu E3 has already been prematurely detailed by Google’s own Android Enterprise Device Catalog earlier this month, with its listing revealing the handset will feature a 6-inch screen and 4GB of RAM, as well as 64GB of internal flash memory which will presumably be expandable. With the smartphone being set to ship with Android 7.1.1 Nougat, Project Treble support likely won’t ever make its way to its official Android implementation, even if Meizu ends up updating it to Oreo post-release. The Meizu E3 will have a rear-mounted fingerprint reader but lack NFC support, according to the same listing. Google’s renders of the device hinted at a single front-facing camera, a feature that the latest leaks seem to corroborate.

The Meizu E3 is still expected to be officially announced by the end of the month and start retailing at some point in April, though it remains to be seen whether the Chinese phone maker ends up offering the handset outside of its home country. As is usually the case with Meizu-made products, the Meizu E3 is likely to be sold internationally by resellers such as GearBest.
