Notch-Equipped Huawei P20 Lite Mid-Ranger Leaks On Video

A short video depicting what’s believed to be Huawei‘s P20 Lite mid-ranger leaked online several days back, having originated from China. The clip that can be seen below is in line with recent reports about the company’s next value-oriented mobile offering and appears to be the true source of another recent P20 Lite leak which revealed a glossy black variant of the upcoming Android device. The handset seems to be utilizing an elongated display panel with an 18:9 aspect ratio and features a compact display notch, as well as a bottom bezel that’s as thick as the top cutout itself.

Leica once again partnered with Huawei on creating a mobile imaging setup, the leak suggests, depicting the P20 Lite with a dual-camera setup designed by the German optics company. A circular fingerprint reader is installed on the back of the device, whereas the overall design of the smartphone is of the metal unibody variety. The P20 Lite features Huawei’s branding on both of its sides but the final product may not be identical to the newly uncovered one which is clearly labeled as a pre-production unit and not one that’s meant to hit the shelves this spring. The P20 Lite is said to be the mid-range component of Huawei’s next Android smartphone family that’s also understood to include the P20 and P20 Pro, as well as a special version of the latter which is likely to be advertised as the Porsche Design P20.

As was the case with the Mate 10 series, the high-end part of the P20 lineup is expected to be powered by Huawei’s own HiSilicon Kirin 970 chip and rely on its neural processing unit in order to enable on-device artificial intelligence computing. The Chinese company repeatedly hinted that the P20 Pro may feature a triple-camera setup, though it’s presently unclear whether all three of the upcoming handsets will sport display notches. The P20 lineup is scheduled to be officially announced on March 27 in Paris, France.
