Philips has announced the Hue outdoor range of smart lights and will be bringing the lights to the U.S. at some point this Summer, so while they aren’t available for consumers to purchase just yet it won’t be too long before consumers do have the chance to pick these up. Included in the new range of outdoor lighting systems are a the Philips Hue Lily spot light, the Philips Hue Calla path light, and various other outdoor lights called the Hue Tuar, Hue Turaco, Hue Ludere, and Hue Lucca.
The Hue Lily and Hue Calla will both be on the higher end of the price table as the Lily will cost $279.99 when it launches, will come with three spot points (three lights), and will put out white and color light. The Calla on the other hand will be $129.99 a piece and will be just one light as opposed to a three-light system, but it will also put out both the white and color lighting just like the Lily, with over 16 million colors available to choose from that can be configured from the Hue app you install on your phones, so it will be possible to not only adjust the brightness and turn them on or off remotely but also set the mood and ambiance with color.
The last four light types will start at $49.99, making them the cheapest of the bunch, and having four different types to choose from will give the consumer some control over how the lights that they put up around the outside of the home look. As mentioned above Philips doesn’t mention an exact release date, but it does note that the lights will arrive in the U.S. in July so those interested in buying them will at least be able to narrow things down to the month when they launch. Philips will also be launching the new Hue outdoor range of lights in Europe at the same time, with costs of €299 for the Lily Spot light system, €140 for the Calla path light, and €70 for the Lucca, Tuar, and Turaco lights. Philips doesn’t mention which retailers will carry the lights but you’ll more than likely be able to grab from Philips directly, and it’s likely places like Amazon will carry them as well.
