We did not exactly see that many smartwatches announced in the last year or so, but if you’ve been planning to get a new smartwatch, and need the translation feature, the all-new Lingmo Time2Translate smartwatch may be just right for you. This smartwatch has just been announced by an Australian startup, Lingmo, following the announcement of its earpiece powered by IBM Watson, which was introduced last year.
Now, the Lingmo Time2Translate smartwatch is also powered by IBM Watson, and it is based on Android, not Android Wear. This smartwatch features a 1.39-inch AMOLED touch-sensitive display, 512MB of RAM and 4GB of native storage. Lingmo has included a camera in this watch as well, it sports a 2-megapixel snapper, while a 350mAh battery is also included here, and it will offer you 4-5 hours of translation time, and it can keep you watch alive in standby for around 13-15 hours. Both a speaker and a microphone are included here, which was to be expected considering that this smartwatch’s flagship feature is the real-time translation. If you want, you can even put your nano SIM card inside of this watch, just in case you need some phone-like features or a connection to mobile data.
The Lingmo Time2Translate smartwatch can translate English, Japanese, French, Italian, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, German, and Chinese, and the company claims that its smartwatch can translate all of those languages with an 85-percent accuracy. In addition to real-time translation, the Lingmo Time2Translate smartwatch can also translate voice messages in nine different languages, thanks to Lingmo’s Talk2U software. Up to 1,000 people can talk in a group chat, and as long as they’re talking in one of those nine languages, the Lingmo Time2Translate should not have any issues with translation.
This smartwatch comes in two models, the first one is a Lifestyle model, and it is available with a black frame and a black silicone strap. This variant of the watch will cost you $699, should you choose to buy it. The Executive variant of this watch is a more luxurious option, and it combines black stainless steel frame, and a leather wristband, this variant of the watch costs $899.
