Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Coming To Europe Soon: Rumor

According to a new tweet by Roland Quandt, Xiaomi will launch the Redmi Note 5 Pro in Europe soon. The source claims that the phone will become available in Europe with ‘appropriate LTE bands’, and that its 32GB and 64GB storage variants will be priced around €230 and €270, respectively. Xiaomi did show off the Redmi Note 5 Pro during this year’s Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, which took place last month, and it seems like that was an indication that the phone is coming to Europe.

Having said that, the phone will probably launch in Spain first, and join some other smartphones that are already available in that country. Both the Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro were originally introduced in India last month, and interestingly enough, the source did not mention the Redmi Note 5, only the Redmi Note 5 Pro, indicating that the Redmi Note 5 may not follow in the footsteps of the ‘Pro’ version. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro is made out of metal, and it sports considerably thinner bezels than its predecessor, the Redmi Note 4. The device comes with a dual camera setup on the back, and those cameras are vertically-aligned. A fingerprint scanner sits on the back of this phone, while the display on the Redmi Note 5 Pro sports rounded corners. The device sports a 5.99-inch fullHD+ (2160 x 1080) display, while it was originally announced in 4GB and 6GB RAM variants, both of which arrived with 64GB of expandable storage. Well, it seems like a 32GB storage variant is also on its way, as the source indicates that it will launch in Europe.

12 and 5-megapixel snappers are included on the back of the Redmi Note 5 Pro, while a single 20-megapixel shooter can be found on the phone’s front side. A 4,000mAh non-removable battery is also a part of this package, and the phone supports fast charging. Android 7.1.2 Nougat comes pre-installed on the Redmi Note 5 Pro, along with MIUI 9, though an update to Android Oreo is quite probably coming soon. This handset also offers two SIM card slots, and that hybrid dual SIM setup will almost certainly become available in Europe as well.
