Xiaomi has just announced a new TV in its homeland, a 55-inch Mi TV 4S. This is a 4K TV which comes with an HDR display, and a number of other features. Some of you probably recall that Xiaomi announced a 40-inch Mi TV 4A in China a couple of weeks ago, well, the Mi TV 4S is definitely an improvement over the Mi TV 4A, in pretty much every way. The Mi TV 4S is made out of metal, it sports a more premium build than the Mi 4A, while it also comes with a voice assistant, and a remote controller.
As you can see in the provided images, the Mi TV 4S sports really thin bezels, which makes the experience of watching content on it even more immersive. Xiaomi’s branding is present on the TV, below its display, but it’s so small that it’s barely noticeable, and it won’t take away from enjoying watching content on the device. As already mentioned, we’re looking at a 4K panel here, and it’s worth noting that it supports HDR output, and that this is an IPS LCD panel, not an OLED one or anything of the sort. There are two 8-watt stereo speakers included on this TV, while the device supports both DTS and Dolby Audio. There are three HDMI ports included on the TV, while the device has support for both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, which was to be expected. The Xiaomi Mi TV 4S runs Xiaomi’s PatchWall UI, which is based on Android, and its AI assistant is here as well.
Xiaomi’s 55-inch Mi TV 4S TV is fueled by one of Amlogic’s processors, it’s a 64-bit quad-core SoC which runs at 1.5GHz, while the Mali-450 GPU is here for graphics processing. This TV comes with 2GB of RAM and 8GB of native storage. In addition to three HMDI ports, the TV also sports one optical audio port, one Ethernet port, two USB ports, one S-PDIF port, and one RF Cable port. The 55-inch Xiaomi Mi TV 4S is priced at 2,999 Yuan ($477) in China, and those of you who live in China can already pre-order this TV. The device will go on sale on April 3, in case you were wondering, and it remains to be seen if this TV will make it to other markets, like India, for example.
