Xiaomi Will Introduce Mi Band 3 Wearable, Claims Huami's CEO

Huami Technology’s CEO, Huang Wang, has confirmed that the Xiaomi Mi Band 3 is coming. Huami’s CEO confirmed this during a press conference in China, and for those of you who do not know, Huami is Xiaomi’s partner, and the company behind Xiaomi’s Mi Band fitness trackers. The two companies collaborate on the Mi Band, Mi Band 1S, and Mi Band 2 fitness trackers, which have been extremely successful for Xiaomi, and it seems like the third-generation Mi Band fitness tracker will be announced sometime this year.

Having said that, the company’s CEO did not say when can we expect the Mi Band 3 to arrive, nor did he release any additional info when it comes to the device. The Xiaomi Mi Band 3 fitness tracker did get its Bluetooth certification last month under the ‘XMSH05HM’ model number, and that certification basically confirmed that the fitness tracker will sport Bluetooth 4.2. Now, in addition to all this, it is worth noting that Xiaomi’s CEO. Lei Jun, actually teased the arrival of the Mi Band 3 fitness tracker earlier this month, though he did not mention the device by name or anything of the sort, unlike Huami’s CEO, well, at least according to the source. The Xiaomi Mi Band 2 fitness tracker helped Xiaomi to find its way to the very top of ‘best-selling fitness trackers’ list, as the company surpassed both Fitbit and Apple last year, and it essentially managed to become a leader in the wearables market, at least for a period of time.

The Xiaomi Mi Band 2 is a solid fitness tracker, and even though it has a limited array of features, it does come with a display, and a heart rate monitor, not to mention that the device was extremely affordable back when it launched, and it’s not even more affordable than that, which surely helped boost its sales as well. The Xiaomi Mi Band 2 can now be purchased from GearBest for as low as $26.99, and chances are that its successor will also be quite affordable. The Xiaomi Mi Band 3 will be compatible with both Android and iOS platforms, as was the Mi Band 2, and the device will almost certainly sport a display as well. At the moment, we do not have any additional info about the Mi Band 3, but it seems like it will arrive before the end of the year.
