Black Shark's Specs Surface, Xiaomi-Backed Phone Coming Soon

Black Shark has teased the arrival of a Xiaomi-backed gaming smartphone quite recently, and the phone’s specs have just surfaced yet again. Black Shark had confirmed via its official Weibo (Chinese social network) page, that the device will be fueled by the Snapdragon 845 64-bit octa-core processor, while the device is expected to compete with the Razer Phone, and Nubia’s upcoming gaming smartphone. Before we being, it is also worth saying that the device got benchmarked by both AnTuTu and Geekbench already.

Having said that, we’re still not sure if the phone will have the word ‘Xiaomi’ in its official name, or will it carry only ‘Black Shark’ branding, but if the leaked info is to be believed, the phone will arrive in three different RAM / storage variants. The most affordable version of the device will sport 6GB of RAM and 128GB of native storage, the middle-of-the-road variant will arrive with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, while the most expensive model will feature 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The device is also said to support Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging solution, and Black Shark’s branding will be included on its back, though we’re not sure if Xiaomi’s branding will be there. Android 8.0 Oreo will come pre-installed on the device, and the phone will almost certainly arrive before the Xiaomi Mi 7, which is not surprising because the Xiaomi Mi 7 is not expected to launch before the end of summer.

Now, it was confirmed earlier that the Black Shark gaming device will ship with ‘Shark Space’, which is an app similar to the ‘Game Center’, which will pack in a number of different gaming-related features and settings you’ll be able to take advantage of. It is also worth noting that Black Shark partnered up with JingDong Mall (JD.com) not long ago, which probably means that the Black Shark gaming smartphone will be available for purchase from JD.com in China, though it is still unclear whether the device will become available outside of Black Shark’s homeland, we will have to wait for an official announcement in order to get more detail, it seems. Chances are that this handset will be announced in either April or May, based on the amount of info that surfaced up to this point.
