Huawei has just announced that its Huawei P20 flagships will be launched in China on April 12. The company had introduced the Huawei P20 and P20 Pro in Paris on March 27, which was a global launch of the two devices, and people have been wondering when will the two phones drop in China. Well, Huawei has just confirmed the April 12 as a launch date for the two devices, and the company did it via its official Weibo (Chinese social network) page. If you take a look at the provided image, you will get to see both devices pictured there, along with the aforementioned date, and the time when the press conference will start. This press conference will be hosted in Shanghai, and it will start at 2:30PM (local time).
The Huawei P20 and P20 Pro are quite similar in terms of the design, but their internals are somewhat different. These two smartphones are both made out of metal and glass, and both ship with a front-facing fingerprint scanner. The Huawei P20 Pro, unlike the regular P20 model, comes with three rear-facing cameras, though. Both phones sports a display notch, and are fueled by the same processor, the Kirin 970, which is Huawei’s very own flagship SoC. That being said, both phones come with Leica’s lenses, and are quite capable in the camera department, especially the P20 Pro, which packs in 40, 20 and 8-megapixel snappers on the back. The Huawei P20 features a 5.8-inch fullHD+ (2244 x 1080) IPS LCD display, while the P20 Pro sports a 6.1-inch fullHD+ (2244 x 1080) AMOLED panel. The P20 comes with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of non-expandable storage, while its sibling offers 6GB of RAM and 128GB of non-expandable storage.
A 24-megapixel snapper is included on the front side of both phones, the P20 comes with a 3,400mAh non-removable battery, while the P20 Pro has a 4,000mAh non-removable battery unit. Android 8.1 Oreo comes out of the box on both devices, along with Huawei’s Emotion UI (EMUI) 8.1 skin. Both phones come in single SIM and dual SIM variants, and their availability will be market-dependent, though China will probably get the dual SIM option. It is still not known how much will these two devices cost in China, but they are priced at €649 and €899 in Europe, respectively.
