The LG G7 Android flagship leaked in over a dozen new renders showcasing the device from all angles, with the images seen in the gallery below being created by known industry insider Steve Hemmerstoffer (OnLeaks). The pictures are said to be a fairly accurate representation of LG’s next ultra-premium offering, having been based on the latest information about the device that has long been rumored to debut alongside a rebranding of the G series but is now once again expected to launch as the G7 after being showcased behind closed doors at Mobile World Congress two months back.
The display notch of the device is relatively small by virtue of the fact it only houses conventional hardware and lacks a 3D camera or any other such specialized module, with the overall package boasting a metal-and-glass build and a rear-mounted dual-camera setup accompanied by a dual-LED flash unit. A circular fingerprint scanner is also present on the back panel of the G7, with the phablet itself being approximately 53.2 x 71.9 x 8.2mm in size, though its camera area is said to be slightly thicker, measuring in at around 8.5mm. A USB Type-C port and a 3.5mm audio jack will still be part of the package, with the South Korean tech giant being expected to once again equip its new Android flagship with a quad-DAC system. LG also appears to have moved the power button from the rear plate of the device to its right edge, whereas the G7 also sports one extra physical keys beneath its volume controls situated on the left edge of its case. The purpose of the extra button remains unclear; only Samsung’s recent high-end products feature such a key which is used for launching Bixby.
The G7 is said to sport a 6-inch 19:9 display panel, two 16-megapixel cameras, and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845, as well as a base of 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal flash memory. A more premium model with twice as much storage space and 6GB of RAM is also in the works, according to recent rumors. Both should support wireless charging, run an implementation of Android 8.1 Oreo, and be officially unveiled later this spring.
