Material Design 2 Refresh Shows Up In My Account Settings

Google’s Material Design 2 refresh is showing up in the My Account settings on mobile, though it’s not exactly starting to roll out to users and it’s only possible to see the new design if you have the latest version of the Play Services beta app. In addition to that there aren’t really any steps listed on how to get this design to show up but you can view some screenshots below that display what the new visual changes will look like once Google begins to push the new design out to users officially. Much like the Material Design 2 changes in other apps the refreshed look on the My Account page will have much more noticeable use of white for the background.

Google is also merging three of the currently available menus (Sign-In & Security, Personal Info & Privacy, and Account Preferences) that are separated into a bar at the bottom of the page. When the visual changes are applied officially at some point in the future those three previously-mentioned settings pages will all be located in the bottom bar under a tab labeled as “Account”  with additional tabs for other settings pages. The other tabs that will be listed will be Search, Support, and Menu, and all three tabs will feature the use of the larger card style panels with rounded corners that were seen previously in Chrome.

While all of the settings still appear to be available as they are in the current version that most users are still seeing, the new tabbed interface at the bottom is no doubt going to make navigation around these settings and different pages a little easier for the average user. Slowly but surely Google is starting to shift the looks of all of its services, both on mobile and desktop, to the new look of Material Design to keep things as streamlined as possible. When it decides to officially push things out is unclear though.
