MetroPCS has started a new promotion today, which makes it a great time to switch to the prepaid carrier. Those looking to switch to MetroPCS can get two months of free service, with unlimited data, as long as they port their number over to MetroPCS. Additionally, MetroPCS is discounting smartphones across its portfolio, so you can also get a phone for free. Which makes this deal a really sweet one, for those looking to switch to MetroPCS and save some cash. MetroPCS has smartphones from popular brands like Samsung, LG and Motorola, that are all on sale.
In its press release, MetroPCS says that customers will be able to choose from the $50 Unlimited LTE plan, the $60 Unlimited LTE with 10GB of Hotspot Data, or four lines of Unlimited LTE for just $100. MetroPCS does include all taxes and regulatory fees in that price, so that you are paying $50 out the door and nothing more. Making this a sweet deal, especially since there won’t be any surprises with taxes and fees once you get your bill. Now the way that the two months of free service works at MetroPCS is that after the second monthly payment is made on time, the customer will get a $100 prepaid MasterCard. So you do need to actually pay for the service before you can get reimbursed for it. But that’s still a great way to check out MetroPCS’ service.
MetroPCS is T-Mobile’s flagship prepaid brand and it runs on T-Mobile’s network. So you’re getting the nation’s fastest LTE network (according to T-Mobile), for a fraction of the price. The only difference here is that you pay for your service at the beginning of the month instead of at the end of the month, like with postpaid service. If you do live in a congested area, however, MetroPCS customers don’t get as high priority on the tower as T-Mobile postpaid customers do. Though that is usually not an issue, as T-Mobile has added plenty of capacity in the past few years.
