Mysterious LG Smartphone Appears With 18:9 Display, No Notch

A mysterious new LG-branded smartphone has just surfaced online, courtesy of Roland Quandt. If you take a look at the provided image, you will notice that the phone does not sport a display notch, and now, it is not hidden by software, Mr. Quandt confirms that a display notch is not present at all. In addition to that, it is easily noticeably that this phone has really thin bezels, while its top and bottom bezels are the thickest ones, but they’re quite thin as well.

The phone’s display sports rounded corners, while the volume up and volume down keys sit on the left-hand side of this handset. A power / lock key is located on the right side of this mysterious smartphone, while the device utilizes on-screen buttons for navigation. Only the phone’s front side leaked, unfortunately, but the phone’s fingerprint scanner probably sits on the back, as it is nowhere to be found on the phone’s front side, and it doesn’t seem to be included on the side either. Mr. Quandt also says that this is a new low-to-mid-range device from the company, and that the display aspect ratio is 2:1 aka 18:9. He also suggests that the phone will sport a 5.5-inch 1280 x 640 display, though he did not confirm that part. Now, this could be a new smartphone in the company’s Q series (the LG Q7 perhaps?) of devices, but that’s only a guess on our part, as no actual info was provided by the source.

Having said that, this phone will probably include 2GB or 3GB of RAM on the inside, while one of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 400 or 600 series processors will probably be included in this smartphone. Android Oreo will come pre-installed on the device, with LG’s custom UI on top of it, while the phone will probably include a 3,000mAh non-removable battery, or a battery of a similar capacity. This South Korean tech giant is also expected to announce its new flagship handset in the near future, the LG G7 ThinQ will launch on May 2, and we’ve actually shared some exclusive info regarding that phone yesterday.
