The LG G7 ThinQ has just surfaced in a new image, and this time we’re looking at a real-life image of the phone, which shows some display-related settings. To be more exact, this seems to be the ‘New Second Screen’ menu, which may sound fancy, but it actually controls notch-related settings. As most of you know, the LG G7 ThinQ will ship with a display notch, but LG will let you hide it via software, by adding black bars on both its left and right sides. That being said, it seems like LG will also let its consumers edit those black bars to a certain extent.
If you take a look at the provided image, you will notice that you’ll be able to choose between two different designs of notch bars, the first option will result in the round top-left and top-right corners of the phone’s display, while the second one will leave you with regular 90-degree corners. The device’s bottom-left and bottom-right corners will remain curved either way, as that is the default setup this phone provides, same goes with top-left and top-right corners if you leave everything on default, as the notch will be present. Now, it seems like LG will also allow its consumers to play around with colors of those black bars, and it seems like some app integration is also included here, as LG says that the colors you pick will apply to the home screen and any built-in default applications, in other words, LG’s apps. The phone will utilize on-screen buttons, its power / lock button will be located on the right (as you can see in the provided image), while its volume up and volume down keys will be placed on the left.
The LG G7 ThinQ will be fueled by the Snapdragon 845 64-bit octa-core processor, while it will ship with two cameras on its back, where you will find its fingerprint scanner as well. LG had confirmed yesterday that the phone will sport a 6.1-inch QHD+ ‘Super Bright Display’, and the phone will ship with Android Oreo, while LG’s custom UI will be included on top of Google’s OS. The device will be announced on May 2, which is right around the corner.
