The Nubia Z18 Mini will be announced on April 11, Nubia has confirmed. The company has confirmed this info via its official Weibo (Chinese social network), as an official teaser image was shared, including the said date. The Nubia Z18 was not announced just yet, though it’s not unusual for Nubia to announce a ‘Mini’ version of the device, before a regular model, as the company did the same with the Nubia Z18’s predecessor, the Nubia Z17 last year.
Having said that, the company’s official teaser hints that the phone will ship with a dual camera setup, while a number ‘24’ has also been mentioned here. Now, that number almost certainly points towards a 24-megapixel camera, though we’re not sure if Nubia is referring to a front-facing or one of the rear-facing snappers on the Nubia Z18 Mini. It is even possible that Nubia is teasing a combined megapixel count of the Nubia Z18 Mini’s rear-facing cameras, we’ll just have to wait and see. Now, this smartphone did not leak a single time thus far, nor did we see any rumors regarding it, so its spec sheet remains a mystery, though we can guess what specs will the device sport, based on its predecessor, the Nubia Z17 Mini.
The Nubia Z17 Mini came in both 4GB and 8GB RAM variants, the former was fueled by the Snapdragon 652 64-bit octa-core SoC, while the latter one arrived with the Snapdragon 653 64-bit octa-core processor. Having said that, the Nubia Z18 Mini will probably arrive in both 4GB and 6GB RAM variants as well, though we’re not sure what SoC variant(s) to expect here. The device will probably sport a 5.5-inch fullHD+ display, while Android Nougat or Oreo will come pre-installed on it, along with the company’s Nubia UI skin. The phone will almost certainly sport two SIM card slots, and its storage will be expandable. The Nubia Z18 Mini is expected to be made out of metal, while an IPS LCD display will be included here, it is highly unlikely that Nubia may opt for an OLED panel. That is more or less it, none of those specs have leaked just yet, those are all educated guesses more than anything else, so keep that in mind.
