The OnePlus 6 will be announced in London on May 16, and renders of the phone’s front and back have just surfaced. If you take a look at the provided image, you will notice a device which sports a display notch, as expected, while it also comes with a really thin ‘chin’ below the display. This handset also sports a vertically-aligned dual camera setup on the back, while an LED flash and a fingerprint scanner are located right below those two cameras. OnePlus’ logo is included on the back, and so is the company’s ‘Designed by OnePlus’ engraving.
A power / lock key is located on the right-hand side of the phone, along with an alert slider which sits above it, which is the first time an alert slider is placed on the right-hand side of a OnePlus-branded handset. The volume up and volume down keys are included on the left, and chances are that a SIM card tray can also be accessed from the left, even though these renders don’t exactly reveal that. You will notice that this handset has a white back, and the source claims that a ‘glossy black’, and ‘smoked glass’ variants will also be available. The source also notes that these renders have been ‘slightly retouched’ in order to protect whoever leaked them. Having said that, the OnePlus 6 will be fueled by the Snapdragon 845 64-bit octa-core processor, which is something that OnePlus already confirmed. The company had also confirmed that a display notch will be included in the package, and that the device’s footprint will be quite similar to the physical footprint of the OnePlus 5T, even though the OnePlus 6’s display will be larger.
The OnePlus 6 will be water and dust resistant, as OnePlus confirmed that it will ship with some sort of an IP rating, which is a first for one of the company’s smartphones. The company also confirmed that the phone will sport a glass back, and the device will probably ship with a 6.28-inch fullHD+ (19:9 aspect ratio) AMOLED display. The OnePlus 6 will include navigation gestures, and the company had confirmed that super slow-motion video recording will also be available.
