UPDATE:OnePlus reached out to us to clarify the situation, it seems like OxygenOS Open Beta build for the OnePlus 3, 3T, 5, and 5T were not pulled intentionally, it happened because of OnePlus’ recent domain change. The company’s spokesperson said that all four builds will soon be available for download once again.
It seems like OnePlus decided to pull four iterations of its latest OxygenOS Open Beta update due to bugs. OnePlus had recently released a new version of OxygenOS Open Beta update for the OnePlus 3, 3T, 5, and 5T, and none of those versions are currently available for download from the company’s official website, where users can download various version of OxygenOS, just in case they want to install them manually. It is worth noting that all those versions were listed on downloads.oneplus.com before, as soon as OnePlus started rolling them out.
To be exact, OnePlus seems to have pulled OxygenOS Open Beta 33 for the OnePlus 3, Open Beta 24 for the OnePlus 3T, Open Beta 7 for the OnePlus 5, and Open Beta 5 for the OnePlus 5T. Now, based on users reports that have been submitted to OnePlus’ forums, the main issue with all those updates seems to be battery life, as users started experiencing battery drainage soon after installing those updates. That is not the only issue, it seems, but it is the most obvious one, and the one that most users have been reporting. OnePlus’ handsets usually provide great battery life, especially four most recent ones, so OnePlus probably want to amend such issues before reintroducing those beta updates. Unfortunately, that probably means that users will have to wait for a stable version of those Open Beta updates a bit longer, as OnePlus will need to reintroduce those beta updates in order to test them out properly, and if it turns out everything’s okay, we’ll get a stable version.
The OnePlus 5T users are still waiting for a stable update that will bring navigation gestures along with it, and considering that the company had to pull the latest Open Beta version of the update for the device, and the fact that the OnePlus 6 is right around the corner, chances are they’ll have to wait a bit longer. The OnePlus 6 is expected to arrive sooner than expected, the phone was expected to arrive in June, but chances are it will arrive in either April or May, as OnePlus started promoting the phone a while back, and the OPPO R15 already launched. If a leaked info which surfaced earlier today is to be believed, the OnePlus 6 may arrive on May 5.
