OPPO F7 Diamond Black Edition Pre-Orders Are Live In India

OPPO today announced a special edition of its F7 mid-range smartphone in India that includes improved internals along with a new color option. The most prominent difference from the standard F7 model is the diamond-like shimmer over a black hue on the variant’s glass back called Diamond Black color. The new variant is otherwise similar to the other two color options already available – Moonlight Silver and Solar Red. The special edition device will also feature more RAM and internal storage than the standard variant at 6GB and 128GB respectively. The previously launched device variants came with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of flash storage while being priced at Rs. 21,990 ($335), the Diamond Black edition, on the other hand, will cost Rs. 26,990 ($411). It is currently available for pre-ordering and will go on sale in the country starting April 21 via OPPO’s online and offline sales partners including Flipkart, Amazon, and Paytm Mall.

The OPPO F7 was introduced in India last month and was made available for purchase starting earlier this month. At the launch event, the Chinese smartphone brand had confirmed to bring the Diamond Black edition smartphone to the market soon. It is one of the first OPPO smartphones to embrace the notched design that has contributed to its improved screen to body ratio of 88 percent. The company markets its F series devices as ‘selfie expert’ and the F7 leverages artificial intelligence with its 25-megapixel front facing camera sensor for enhanced camera performance. Besides the camera, AI has also been used to better different aspects of the handset, like battery life optimization, according to the company.

Both the variants of the OPPO F7 include a 6.23-inch IPS LCD display with an FHD+ resolution of 2,280 x 1,080 pixels in the 19:9 aspect ratio. The handset is fueled by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P60 processor clocked at 2GHz along with Mali-G72 MP3 GPU. It is a dual-SIM phone and has a dedicated memory card slot. Besides a 25-megapixel front camera, there is a 16-megapixel rear-placed camera sensor that offers an f/1.8 aperture. The device runs ColorOS 5.0 based on Android 8.1 Oreo while there is a fingerprint scanner placed on its back. A 3.5mm headphone jack is still present on the phone that packs a 3,400mAh battery.
