Xiaomi has just confirmed on its official Weibo (Chinese social network) page, that one of the Mi 6X will ship with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of native storage. Having said that, this is probably a configuration for one of the Mi 6X variants, as the company is expected to release several different RAM and storage variants of the device on April 25, when the device will be announced in China.
The Xiaomi Mi 6X was certified by TENAA (China’s equivalent to the FCC) back in March, while the company already confirmed the phone’s design by sharing its official renders. The company also confirmed that the phone will ship in a number of color variants, while we’ve seen plenty of leaks when it comes to the Mi 6X. The Xiaomi Mi 6X will be made out of metal, it will sport a rear-facing fingerprint scanner, and a rear-facing dual camera setup. Those two cameras will be vertically-aligned, while an LED flash will be placed in-between them. The device will utilize on-screen buttons, while its power / lock, volume up and volume down buttons will be placed on the right-hand side of the phone. The device will sport a 5.99-inch fullHD+ (2160 x 1080) display, just like the Redmi 5 Plus and the Redmi Note 5 Pro, while a 20-megapixel camera will be included on the front side of the phone, that is also something Xiaomi already mentioned.
The device is expected to come in a 4GB RAM variant as well, while 32GB and 64GB storage models may also be at your disposal. 20 and 8-megapixel cameras will probably be included on the phone’s back side. While the device will be fueled by one of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 600 series processors. Android 8.1 Oreo will come pre-installed on the Mi 6X, while on top of it you’ll be able to find Xiaomi’s MIUi 9 skin. Xiaomi will probably release an Android One variant of this smartphone as well, the Xiaomi Mi A2, considering that the Mi A1 was identical to the Mi 5X when it comes to the design, but it shipped with stock Android instead of MIUI. The Mi A2 is not expected to launch on April 25, though, we’ll have to wait a bit longer for Xiaomi to make that phone official.
