Alleged pricing details pertaining to the upcoming Meizu 15 Lite emerged recently from a Chinese media outlet, claiming that the device will be sold by the OEM for the price of 1,499 Yuan ($238). No other pricing details were revealed for the other two smartphone models said to accompany the Lite variant, but it’s worth noting that the Meizu 15 Lite is expected to be the least expensive from the trio, and be followed by the standard Meizu 15 as well as a ‘Plus’ variant boasting improved hardware specifications.
The Meizu 15 lineup is expected to be officially introduced by the Chinese OEM on April 22, according to a previous teaser image as well as a quote coming directly from Meizu’s Head of Global Marketing, Ard Boudeling. The series is meant to commemorate Meizu’s 15-year anniversary, and for this reason, the lineup is highly-anticipated by fans of the brand who have been told by Meizu to expect “the best” it has to offer. The Meizu 15 series was previously spotted in China strolling through TENAA where several hardware characteristics were uncovered, and according to this data, the Meizu 15 Lite could offer noteworthy value for the alleged 1,499 Yuan ($238) price tag. It was described by TENAA as having a 5.46-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080, and be powered by an unnamed processor clocked at 2.2GHz. As a lightweight model, the device would normally be expected to employ a chipset from Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 400-series, however, given the aforementioned characteristics, the SoC could very well be a part of the Snapdragon 600 lineup instead. In any case, according to TENAA the silicon will be paired with 3GB, 4GB, and 6GB of RAM depending on the storage configuration, and all the internal components should rely on a 3,000mAh battery. Also worth noting is that although the Meizu 15 Lite is the only model from the upcoming trio expected to employ a single main camera, the unit should still retain a circular LED flash much like the standard and ‘Plus’ variants.
While Meizu is expected to lift the veil off its anniversary smartphone lineup on April 22, some rumors suggest that the trio will become available for purchase at a later date on April 29, following what could be a week-long pre-registration or pre-order period in China.
