Acer has unveiled the all-new Chromebook 13 and Chromebook Spin 13 for business, complete with premium aluminum finishes and a quality build so both look professional but still have the ability to put in some work for the user. Though both Chromebooks are built for business both also offer some unique features, and cater to different types of users in the workplace. The Chromebook 13 for instance doesn’t feature the convertible design so it’s meant more for those who want to use a more traditional laptop with more typing than anything else. The Chromebook Spin 13 however, does come with the convertible design and also has a touchscreen in addition to coming with a stylus built by Wacom that can be used for writing, drawing. This also means you can avoid having to touch the screen with your fingers, which means you can avoid smudges.
Both Chromebooks come with Full HD+ displays and both are set at the 13.5-inch size so while not as big as the display on the Acer Chromebook Spin 15 that was announced today, both are still plenty big enough to complete whatever work needs to be done. Both should also be more than powerful enough to handle a day’s tasks as each is using Intel’s latest Core CPUs. The Chromebook 13 and Chromebook Spin 13 both feature the 8th-Gen Intel Core i3 8130U processor, while the Chromebook Spin 13 also comes with an option of the 8th-Gen Core i5 8250U processor inside.
As these are designed for business they come with more storage than the average Chromebook, starting off at 32GB for both models, with customers having the option to bump it up to 64GB on the Chromebook 13 or up to 128GB on the Chromebook Spin 13. On top of that each laptop also has up to 16GB of LPDDR3 RAM and enough battery life to last up to ten hours, which is likely plenty even for those that tend to work longer days, though it never hurts to have the charger on hand just in case. Each Chromebook comes with access to Google Play and supports Android apps, so even if the native Chrome OS apps don’t provide what’s needed, Google Play should have a solution. At the moment Acer hasn’t mentioned any details regarding pricing, release date, or region availability.
