Alexa’s ‘Remember This’ feature can help remember birthdays if you happen to be the forgetful type. This in itself can be an extremely useful function if you have a lot of birthdays that you need to remember and simply want a little assistance with it, but remembering birthdays is not the only thing that it can do for you. In fact, you can ask Alexa to remember pretty much anything, like picking something up at the store on the way home from work or adding that one TV show you like to the DVR so you don’t miss it when you actually have a chance to sit down and watch it.
Amazon started rolling this feature out to Alexa-enabled devices as of May 7, so a majority of users should already have it if not all users who own a device which is powered by the smart digital assistant. Using it should be just as users may have imagined as all you have to do is ask Alexa to remember anything you think you may forget, and when you’re ready you can simply ask Alexa what it is you asked it to remember and you’ll get the answer back. Simple and quick.
With Remember This now out for Alexa-powered devices, the feature builds upon other useful functions that were rolled out to users over the past month or so. Back at the beginning of April Amazon started rolling out the capability for music streaming to Alexa Routines, making it possible to include listening to music when you initiate a routine to complete several Alexa actions at once. More recently Amazon rolled out Alexa Announcements which started hitting devices around April 18, allowing individuals who had multiple Alexa devices in the home to use an intercom-like feature so they could talk to people in other rooms of the home.
